Comments: | No obvious big minors during the night. At ~0145 there was a better than average sounding minor but didn't extend long enough for me to light it up. Same around 0205. Checked runoff at steerage and saw no wet areas either side of the main channel, indicating NO recent heavy overflow at Micah 5 level. Runoff at that time was a 3 and I could hear more babbling brook coming down. Runoff increased to a 4 and was still a noisy stream up top. Flashlight showed a nice N vertical at the tree second branch. This grew to the third branch level and up up up it went. About 18 minutes into the eruption there was some steam mixed in and at 23min it was all steam. Steam phase very noisy. SV then switched between water and steam multiple times. NV stayed in steam for at least 3h30m. No pauses. Plenty of pebbles on the bridge. Runoff was all on the Cistern Spring side, nothing beyond the bridge. Periodic heavy showers from Steamboat on the platforms, but some nice clear spells too. Parking lot stayed dry. Bill Beverly reported NV back in water at the 5h 20m mark, see his GT note. |
