LOUD percussive thump at 2032, startled me.
Some larger looking minors at 2101, 03, and a couple more that caused some nice runoff at steerage. Moon came out by 2130. Back on the mid deck there was a period of increased activity starting about 2220. Woo-Hoo at 2228. No equivalent followup. It got me excited enough to pull out the radio but not enough to use it. Activity felt fairly medium for a while - not good enough to convince me it could have a push soon, but not bad enough for me to want to leave. It appeared to start dying down, so I went back to the car. I was mid-reorganizing the car when I heard the rumble, and then saw the water column rising up from the trees. Very tall as seen from emerald. Wind direction was right over the mid deck. Runoff was inundating the BW between Cistern and Steerage. Felt the ground rumble, but no strong pressure waves. Clean water the while time (that I could see). Heard slight shift in noise from steerage at 0003, likely was transition to steam. I did not see any additional water after that. Not particularly loud. Sustained jetting noise the whole time, no bursting that I could tell. South retained wispy sprays of water for a while. No pauses or restarts observed or detected by 0205 when I left. Watched geyser fog set in over the basin from my car as I was about to leave. |
