| Comments: | Excitement! At 0810 observed -from museum- the new spouter erupting to a height of about 15’. Went on down & spouter returned to normal emitting water to a height of 4’. At 0815 the spouter returns to height of 15’ and the new cracks that are moving toward the boardwalk were dry but emitting steam. Suddenly both cracks started to erupt!!! It was just 3 or 4 inches but a lot of water came out. This lasted until 0823 and the northern most crack subsided at 0826 the southern -and larger- crack subsided returning to a steam phase. While this was going on Pinwheel geyser went into a moderate bubbling phase. |
