Comments:Heard it from Norris Campground and came running. Could feel the pressure waves through the car on the way into the parking lot. Arrived at around probably 2233 with NV loud, violent percussive bursting instead of an uninterrupted jet. Hard to determine full height because of steam. Switched to steam at 2238 with a distinct shift to a loud roaring noise. Beautiful moonlit eruption with relatively still winds (though still in the direction of the platforms) and a clear sky. A group of visitors were there for the start and reported 2223 as the start time. We did not observe any restarts as of 0015 when we left the parking lot. Hard to tell of cistern was starting to drop yet when we left. In hindsight, I should not have ignored how quickly volume recovered from the day's active periods that we saw. General activity was looking fairly nice pretty much all day.
