Comments:From Kendall Madsen in the Aug 2006 Sput on pg. 31: "I looked up to see something erupting easily 40 to 50 feet. The eruption consisted of dark black water and mud surging with powerful bursts. Chunks of debris could be seen as they were expelled from the pool." An e-mail from park geologist Hank Heasler on pg. 33 reads: "The depth of mud was about 4.5 cm containing small {<2 cm} angular clasts of soft siliceous sediments. The mud apron was approximately 16 meters wide by 11 meters long with two mud lobes extending an additional 7 meters to the northeast of the pool. The mud covered pre-existing ejecta in the area. New ejecta consisted of blocks of soft siliceous sediment and silicified conglomerate. Most ejecta ranged from 10 to 30 cm in size."
