Comments: | Main Vent first splash observed at 1828. More splashes at 1831, 1833, 1836, 1838 (huge), 1841. River Vent on at 1841 and off at 1849 for the first pause. More Main Vent splashes at 1842, 1843, 1844, 1846, 1848, 1851, 1853. River Vent on at 1854 and off at 1904 for the second pause. Main Vent splashes at 1855, 1856, 1900, and the last splash at 1906. River Vent came on at 1907, Gold and High at 1913, Angle at 1923. Water levels were unimpressive. The small hole to the right of Lower Mortar was steaming at 1925. At 1927 High started splashing vigorously but Gold and Angle did not show much interest. Frying Pan started at 1929. Gold was in steam at 1937 and by 1939 all Fan vents were mostly steam. Bottom Vent splashed off and on during the Main Vent splashing, enough to put some water down the channel but it was never a steady stream. Water levels in Lower Mortar were very high during that time, and Upper Mortar huffed off and on. |
