| Comments: | The eruption was preceded by Main Vent splashing and two River pauses that lasted 13 and 10 minutes, respectively. There were 3 eruptions of Bottom Vent and one Lower Mortar minor lasting 40 seconds. Eruption started from a lock 22 minutes after the start of River. *note, this entry used to say that the eruption was initiated by Upper Mortar. This error was printed in Transactions 7 as well. However, rediscovery of original notes revealed that the eruption started with Upper Mortar surging while lock was in progress, making it a lock start. Good to have that cleared up after 20 years! |
