| Comments: | 1447 River Vent on. 1457 RV off to start first pause. 1457 first Main Vent splash. 1507 RV on. 1521 RV off to start second pause. 1518 significant surge of water inside Upper Mortar's cone and lesser surges followed. 1529 RV on and was rather weak for the duration. 1534 RV off to start third pause. 1533 - 1548 Bottom Vent.. runoff was to the river in less than a minute. Lower Mortar had a few surges that cleared the back of its cone. Last MV splash was 1537. The quality of MV splashing ranged from elegant fountaining to a rowdy surge up and over East Vent's wall. There were a few slow downs in MV's splashing where water wasn't seen for several minutes. 1547 RV on. 1554 Gold Vent on. 1600 Angle Vent on. Water levels started out good, then waned, and then came back. When levels dropped out of sight and GV went to steam, it was clear that there would not be an eruption. All vents were off at 1621. |
