| Comments: | SE vent drained after 4 minutes; center vent changed to vigorous steam phase after 20 minutes. Main vent became intermittent and ended regular water phase after approximately 90 minutes at 6:10 pm. Water was thrown a maximum horizontal distance of 140 feet from the main vent. Maximum height & length of water jet was therefore approx 85 & 135 feet respectively. At the beginning of the eruption several of the bursts sent water from the ___ at an angle of about 40ยบ which sent the water up to a height of near 90 feet. Water was intensely opalescent blue again and total discharge is estimated to be well in excess of 30000 gal. Steam phase was over for all practical purposes at 7:30 |
