Comments: | From the GOSA Bulletin (relayed to me by Genean Dunn): "For the second time in 1989, the world's largest geyser erupted! According to reports from Rick, Marie Wolf and Rocco Paperiello, there were no geyser gazers on hand - a condition that will surely change as more gazers arrive -- but visitors who saw it said it was a 300+ foot eruption, plus big steam.
In the early 80's some gazers devoted much time to Steamboat, discovered trends, and developed theories about it. A lot of this information, which includes possible eruption indicators will be available to Friends over Memorial Day.
Is Steamboat going to become more frequent, maybe even regular? We can only hope! Thanks to Marie, Rocco and Rick." |
