Lion-like steam on static. Wind direction not steady, therefore 1510 could also be westernmost edge of Beehive's plume. This would be consistent with (near-)post-eruptive steam seen on 1514 frame. Maybe a dual, since Lion *did* go @ 1344. |

It appears that a piece of formation about the size of a dinner plate broke loose from the decorations near the top of the cone and shattered on the slope. Numerous pieces of geyserite are scattered on the flank of the cone and ilther3 is a new, somewhat noticeable scar on the face. I see no human footprints to indicate vandalism so I suspect it just broke off naturally during an eruption. Perhaps as a result of freeze thaw action. |

I saw Lion erupting from the cafeteria, apparently near end, but it was ie when I called it. Don't know why it was flagged. Just couldn't put NE (near end) since that isn't a choice. Lion initials can erupt for 6 minutes. |
