| Note: | Arrived to find the entire Fountain area really quiet except for New Bellefontaine. Jets every 3-4 minutes but short and weak. Spasm came on fairly strong 1800. For the time we were there, Morning was quite full and continuing to rise. 1823 water rose in Fountain so visible from observation deck but then held at about 18 in below overflow. Clepsydra alternated periods of quiet with periods of activity during which mainly vents 2 and 3 erupted with many blue bubbles and excellent height. We reported to Tara, who said this was a stall and, while we had a 50/50 chance of getting Fountain as long as Clep alternated starting and stoppi g, the more likely scenario was an eruption 7.5 to 10.5 hours after previous Fountain eruption. |
