| Note: | Fan and Mortar were under near-continuous observation from July 7 through the eruption time. No Lower Mortar minors were seen prior to the eruption cycle and just one pause occurred during that time. The morning of the eruption, there was a shift in the system. Main Vent, which had been quiet for days, roared and jetted steam frequently during River off periods, Upper Mortar had several surges strong enough to cover its cone with overflow, and cycles lengthened from 50ish minutes to 60+ minutes. |
