Note:Notes from Paul Strasser on August 10 interval: The differences between the behavior I saw on August 9 and F&M's behavior during the recent 5 and 7 day intervals was striking. In the previous intervals, there were frequent times when Angle and Frying Pan would stay on for literally hours, and the cycle lengths were all over the place--from 20 min to 40 and the occasional 55+. It would be hours between "good" cycles. And Main vent often went hours without emitting the barest wisp of steam. It was, basically, a whole bunch of junk interspersed with eruptions. During the 3d02h interval, the system looked like 1994 or some other "good" year. Frying Pan turned off in every cycle, and Angle turned off in all but two cycles I saw. Cycle lengths were 60 minutes or greater in all but one instance. There was a decent River Vent pause on the 9th at 1300. And Main Vent steamed lustily during nearly every cycle."
