Note: | Steamboat had mostly low energy throughout the first half of the observation period, which was not surprising considering the 55 degree temperature spike shown on the YVO graph at 0500. Most of the morning and early afternoon consisted of isolated minors which were at times impressive, but surrounded by long pauses. Starting about 1530 energy began to increase. Steamboat had an active period from 1635-1715 with a number of concerted minors that had tall and sustained vertical from both vents. Several impressive minors occurred within minutes of each other, but none initiated an eruption. There was another smaller push around 1915 that didn't amount to much. |
