Note:09/10/1971 Ledge Geyser- has undergone a complete change from its “usual” activity of this summer. For the past 2 days the geyserite deposits around all of its vents have been dry with no water splashing out from minor play or pre-play at all! Its activity is similar to what would be encountered several hours after the steam phase of an eruption was over – just a moderate amount of steam being blown out gently. Ledge erupted 26 times this summer from July 20 to the last so far on September 9th. For the period between August 25 and September 6th it was very regular – averaging 36 hours between eruptions.
