Note:09/04/1970 This afternoon, a visitor reported she had seen Vixon Geyser play for half an hour and go very high, also, that she had seen it do it once before this summer. Ed found this to be a surprise but did go down at Approximately 3:35 and watched it play for 10 minutes to a higher than usual height. Then without knowing that Mills had been at Vixon, Rick Hutchinson noticed also that it was playing higher and not quitting after the usual 5 to 10 seconds. I arrived at Vixon at approximately 3:47 and could tell that it had been playing for at least the previous 5 minutes as there was continuous & even runoff from the geyser all the way down to Tantalus Creek. I then spent well over an additional 15 minutes watching it play & it was still erupting strong when I left which was after 4:05. Thus, the total duration of the eruption was at least 30 minutes. During the time that I watched, usually each jet went 10 to 12 feet high, most went 12 to 18 feet, and I observed some to go slightly over 20 feet high. RH
