Note: | 10/13/1964 Steamboat, on the 14th day, is quite active. From 5:45 pm to 6:15 pm, the south vent erupted 31 times while the north vent played 10 times. The plays from the south vent were very spectacular – reaching 50 feet almost every time. In contrast, the north vent plays were weak with only 3 amounting to 20 feet or so. Much of the play from the South vent was vertical but runoff was produced in the main channel 7 times. The water level in the north vent is still below the ledge – at least 10 feet down. Another nice day. |
