| Note: | 08/08/1964 S.B. first choked at 9:29, but instead of switching to steam as it had so often done in the past, the N. Vent continued to send up H20. The H20 from the N. vent came in bursts rather than a continuous stream. These bursts lasted for ~~ 10 min. and were ~~ 100-150’ high. During this time the S. vent was putting out steam. S.B. choked again and this time both vents switched to steam. This eruption then had the longest H20 phase of the summer – approx 30 min (GA) |
