(wc) Very impressive boils over the last little while. None of them were exceptionally tall (I estimate most of them were only 6'') but there were a lot of them. It also seemed like the center of the pool and the N-rim were constantly sizzling a few inches in height. The pool was higher during this time than I have seen it recently, it was pushing out an impressive amount of water down the main channel and was even flowing a good amount of water into the second channel. We also saw what we thought was runoff coming down the "backside" (closest to the bw). The wind picked up and seemed to kill it around 1900. Entering a note because this was the hottest I have seen 'tess in a long time. |

Much increased activity from prev. days. High water level in Giantess' pool most of the day. Frequent boiling episodes, slowed down after the wind picked up but still put out semi frequent and relatively large activity despite the wind. Numerous 6"+ boils, several 1'+ boils, and a handful approaching 2'. Many with water pushing over the north or west rim. Near constant superheated boiling/bubbling across the pool. Boils are concentrated in the North/West quadrant, along the rim and towards the center of the pool, and are often doming, wide, or have multiple points.
Vault steadily rising most of the day, peaked and started dropping later in the afternoon. |

Saw and heard an explosive boil 3-6 feet high while at Aurum. Went over to the Giantess bench to investigate and have been observing since Aurum. North rim boils are frequent and wide, but not very high and not putting out a lot of overflow. Between concentrated boils the entire pool is in a simmering boil. Vault is only 2 inches below the rim and bubbling on the South en. Giabntess's Pool level is very high. The North Runoff channel is wet to the base of the Mound. Some increase in activity, and a better overall status quo than the previous week, multiple larger boiling episodes this morning put out increased levels of water. As well, Giantess also had overall more boiling episodes, and longer periods of forced steam during the morning when the wind was calm. However, after the wind picked up in the afternoon both the boiling and forced steam episodes were minimal. |

Pool level at the sharp rim at my arrival. The slope behind teakettle had a very small trickle on it. Had a handful of boiling episodes, the largest reached maybe 1.5' and put out a fair amount of water over the north rim. A couple others that put out a little water over the N. rim. Wind started picking up around 1200. Giantess calmed down and the pool dropped a little bit. Vault still right around the water level of right before the 9-10 GTS. Still has bubbles breaking the surface in the back. Infant seems a bit lower than yesterday. |

Large boiling on Giantess at this time, due to steam the water could not be observed. However there was dramatically increased steam, and lots of forced steam at this time. The boil pushed out enough water to create a separate steam plume following the runoff down the channel. Runoff steam plume was not visible earlier in the morning. (Even when it was colder) |

(wc) No change in status quo over the last few days. SE runoff remains dark. Have not been able to observe many boiling episodes due to Mugwump and steamy starts of the day obscuring much of the pool and its steam (which is a good thing as Giantess' boiling - especially the larger ones - pretty much always had me on the edge of my seat). (wc) Maintained status quo (getting a bit repetitive here :D). Anyway, had some decent boiling activity throughout the day, peaking in the morning (again). This time the SE rim got involved as well, a marked break in boiling activity the past days where it was N rim-dominated. Heights usually didn't exceed 1-2 feet, perhaps 3. Two boiling episodes were of note: SE rim @ 0917:55 for ±25s at 2-3 feet and also SE rim 1054:08 for 20s 2-4 feet. Estimate would be that the SE rim had about 5% of all boiling activity, with the N rim accounting for the remainder. As for N rim regions, I estimate it was a nearly equal three-way split between the NW, N and NE regions as far as boiling episode region is considered, with the NE rim being ±more active in the afternoon than the other regions. |

Worth noting this time is that Giantess had a few decent boiling episodes inferred by forced steam about 20-30 minutes before Beehive went, despite wind conditions being less than optimal for any activity other than overflowing strongly with the occasional (weak) boil. (wc) Pool appears to have been high with only fragments of the white ring visible at all times I've observed it the past 2 days or so. It appears the hot/cold phases are now only identifiable by steam output of the pool; the SE runoff itself has always been steamy over the past days. Have barely seen any boiling aside from the already noted boiling episodes from webcam, though, which is kind of surprising but also not since it has been fairly windy. (wc) No change in status quo, although observed boiling today seemed a little more vigorous than yesterday. Had some good boiling episodes between ±1100 to ±1200 (including a strong one covering the NE quadrant which later split into two - N and NE) and hotter than usual from 1503-onw. Over the past few days it has become apparant to me that boiling episodes happen almost exclusively when the pool is emitting more steam than usual for ambient temperatures. In this "hot" phase, it appears the pool rises to a higher-than-usual water level, causing a noticeable increase in steam at the SE runoff area. Runoff also becomes noticeably darker as this hot phase continues; this becomes apparant about 30 to 40 minutes after the start. Boiling also happens frequently, but it seems to be only of visible size (or only happen) when there's little or no wind. Some of these hot phases feature a thin, white ring around the pool, while others don't (likely the stronger hot phases). No idea on how long these hot phases last, but could easily be well over an hour or more. In the "cold" phase, it appears the pool emits steam as usual for ambient temperatures and there appears to be little or no boiling. The pool also appears low, with an easily visible, ±continuous, white ring around the pool. As for when Giantess transitions to a hot phase - I am not sure. The 1503 hot phase started with a weak, but visible, N rim boiling episode, so visible boiling while the pool is low may be an indicator for that. |

(wc) Not much change in status quo since my previous note. In sunlight the SE runoff is quite dark, nearly black in certain spots. Occasional boiling episodes today spaced minutes to hours apart, including two fairly decent ones in the afternoon at the NE and N rim. Haven't seen much SE rim involvement other than a few steam pushes in the morning after the fog had cleared after 0900-ish. Did see a big, dense push before the fog had lifted (even after taking into account temperatures and humidity), which may have had its origins at the SE or NE rim. |

(wc) Series of "quickfire" N semicircle boils 1528ie, varying from only inferrable by steam to clearly visible spaced apart seconds to minutes. Most boils were at the N rim, with the occasional boil at the NE or NW rim. Once again little to no SE rim involvement. Also noteworthy is that the already dark runoff appears to have darkened further since this morning, with *steamy* SE runoff persisting for much of the day. I suspect this steam is mainly due to lower temperatures today than yesterday - low 50s°F compared with low 70s°F yesterday, but included it nonetheless since I don't remember seeing as much yesterday morning, when the temperatures were lower than or comparable to today. A smoother stream would help, since this choppy mess of slideshow "stream" isn't making things easier. |

(wc) Winds have decreased after being unfavorably strong for much of the afternoon, with few boiling episodes noted. Interesting was that these boiling episodes were primarily at SE rim, with little involvement of the N rim. 1659 strong, bubble shower-like N rim boils covering the NW quadrant of the pool and some of the SW and NE quadrants, enough to make my heart go racing and to have noticeable shaking due to adrenaline rush. Of lesser magnitude 1703. More focused N rim boils 1719, height 1-2 feet. Of same size but short-lived 1724. N rim to center 1725, 1727. N rim 1729. Weak N rim 1736. NE rim 1741. Center pool 1744. SE steamy overflow becoming very noticeable. N rim weak 1747. Big NE rim 1749. [break]. Winds increased inbetween 1754 and 1808. N & NE rim 1821, weak. (WC), multiple periods of heavy boiling throughout the day, wind speed remained high and during the windy times, there was minimally boiling. Giantess was responding to calm periods with boiling, many of which were on the N or NE side of the pool, and a few were sustained. Earlier in the morning, the pool had excessive steaming and what appeared to be a good runoff and pool level the entire day. The largest boiling episodes of the day were noted at 1218, 1221, 1224, and 1230. There was likely boiling episodes early in the morning before the wind picked up as can be inferred by the heavy steam (already taking into account the temperatures) |

Fresh runoff on the slope behind teakettle. Occasional simmering boil on the N/NE rim. Pool is just below the rim. NPS also installed a logger today. |

(wc) Wind calmed down. Giantess responded by heating up and notable rim boils in the northern semicircle. 1218 NE rim, 1221 N rim, 1224 N rim, late 1230 NW quadrant sustained into mid-1231, about a foot tall and 4-5 wide per chat page viewer. |

(wc) Over the course of the day, Giantess started to widen its SE runoff source more to the south. Total runoff area is now about the same as it was before it erupted last time. Have seen a few light boils (bubble shower-like, if you will) at the SE rim and another one in the center of the pool. The latter also sustained the longest, about 45 to 60 seconds. Other than that there was a 1-2-foot SE rim boil after 0811 and before the wind had increased around noon. |

(wc) Looks very active this morning. Have seen multiple episodes of forced steam only minutes apart around 0600-0700. 0908 had inferred SE rim boils, joined later by inferred N rim boils. SE rim boils did die down within a few seconds of the N rim boils. Not quite there yet I would say. |

Giantess' pool is calm and lower than this morning. Water level is just below the sharp rim on the NE side. There is still some water in the runoff area on the North side of Giantess, but it does not extend down the slope. Vault has risen to just over an inch below the back rim. |

Giantess' water level is high. It is resting above the sharp rim on the NE side. There is a little bit of runoff on the slope behind teakettle, and the channel on the NE side of Giantess is damp as well. |

(wc) Within not even 24 hours, Giantess' SE runoff has transformed from being light gray (due to its formations drying out after the eruption) to dark gray, which is indicative of heavy overflow. This was already becoming visible yesterday, with a light gray formation that morning and a dark gray formation in the afternoon. However, the SE runoff doesn't quite yet have the width it had for the previous eruptions at its origin, so the next opportunity might be a few days away still. This does not take away that I've seen (or inferred based on forced steam) a few decent-looking boiling episodes. |

(wc) Definitely overflowing, white bacteria mats are beginning to turn darker. Possible boiling as the camera panned over at 0655, as there was a period of forced steam for a few seconds. |
